The seven mile Adena Recreational Trail starts near the Maple Grove/Anderson Station/Sulphur Lick Roadsintersection. There is parking at this site owned by the U.S. Department of Interior and managed by Hopewell Culture National Historical Park.

Currently, the trail travels towards the Village of Frankfort crossing five bridges. The longest bridge is 366' long crossing the North Fork of Paint Creek. A 244' bridge has a scenic overlook of North Fork Creek. Parking is available at the Frankfort site across from Brad Lightle Park. You can also launch your canoe from this site.

In 2002 the trail will link Frankfort to the new Adena School campus. This will bring the total to almost nine miles of paved trail.

The proposed linkages of Chillicothe to Frankfort, Frankfort to Washington Court House, Washington Court House to Greenfield and Greenfield to the Frankfort area will complete the 52 mile Triangle Trail. Washington Court House will also link to Xenia and the Ohio to Erie Trail.
